"United Aircraft Corporation" will deliver Tu-214 aircraft to commercial airlines starting from 2027

Russia's United Aircraft Corporation has announced the timeline for delivering Tu-214 passenger aircraft equipped with fully domestically produced components to commercial airlines. This was reported by Ground.uz.
According to a statement by company CEO Vadim Badekha, these aircraft will begin entering civil aviation fleets starting in 2027. This step holds strategic importance for Russia's aviation industry, aimed at supplying the domestic market with local technologies amid external sanctions.
Currently, Tu-214 models in production are primarily intended for special-order customers. However, starting next year, the first batch of aircraft intended for commercial carriers is expected to begin assembly.
According to the TASS news agency, the first operator of the new-generation aircraft will be the Red Wings airline. As part of the civil aviation development program, the carrier is set to receive the initial batch of 11 Tu-214 aircraft.
According to plans in the aviation industry, a total of four Tu-214 aircraft are scheduled for production in 2026. After that, starting in 2027, deliveries will enter a phase of mass production.
Interest in the project is being shown not only by major federal companies but also by regional governments. For example, the Yakutia government plans to purchase three such aircraft during 2027–2028.
Additionally, negotiations are underway with S7 Airlines, one of Russia's largest private carriers. Earlier, S7's management stated its intention to purchase nearly 100 Tu-214 aircraft to renew its fleet.
Such large orders play an important role in ensuring the future stability of Russia's aviation industry. The Tu-214 is a twin-engine, medium-range passenger aircraft designed for flights of up to 4,500 kilometers.
In terms of its technical specifications, it can compete with many of its international counterparts. For Central Asia, and especially Uzbekistan's aviation market, such changes in Russia's aviation industry could be of interest, as demand for medium-range aircraft for regional flights remains consistently high.
The main task within the project is to fully replace foreign components in the aircraft's structure with domestically produced parts. Completion of this process will enable Russia to independently service and renew its aviation technology without reliance on external suppliers.
By 2027, this goal is expected to be achieved as a key milestone.
