Reddit fights fake news with artificial intelligence
In the internet world, the increase in unnecessary messages and advertisements created by artificial intelligence has become a serious problem for major networks. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The Reddit social network announced that it has implemented large language model technology to combat this threat. This unique approach means the platform now uses more intelligent algorithms to detect content created by bots.

International tech publications reported on this development. In recent years, the widespread use of text-based neural networks has enabled malicious actors to generate false information on an unprecedented scale.

While earlier protection systems could easily block simple and repetitive texts, messages generated by modern models are extremely close to human speech, making them difficult to distinguish. According to Reddit data, the platform limits tens of millions of spam views daily and detects thousands of new fake posts and comments.

In the new phase of technological countermeasures, updated tools are capable of detecting complex and coordinated fake behavior patterns that older systems failed to catch. This has proven effective against attempts to artificially amplify certain topics or covertly run advertising campaigns.

The company reported that in the early months of this year, it achieved a significant reduction in users' exposure to spam. Other major platforms are also addressing this issue in various ways.

For example, networks like YouTube and Meta allow users to place AI-generated content under certain conditions. Some short-video services even give users the ability to adjust how much artificial content they wish to see in their feeds.

Reddit, however, focuses primarily on user safety and maintaining platform cleanliness. The ongoing development of large language models helps not only detect spam faster, but also identify hate speech and other types of rule-violating content more quickly.

However, industry experts warn that relying solely on algorithms can be risky. Achieving the best results requires AI systems to work alongside human moderators under supervision.

For users of social networks in the Uzbek segment, this news is also of significant importance. The strengthening of such efforts on global platforms ensures that local audiences receive higher-quality and more reliable information.

Reddit’s experience shows that problems created by technology can only be solved by even more advanced and modern technology.
