The Uzbekistan national team recorded its highest result in history at the 66th International Mathematics Olympiad. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In this prestigious competition held in Australia, our young mathematicians won 4 silver and 1 bronze medals, representing our country with dignity. This was announced by Hilola Umarova, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Education Reform, on her Telegram channel.
The winners are: Elbek Zohidjonov — Specialized School named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, 10th grade (silver medal); Asadbek Boboqulov — Artel Technical School NTM, 11th grade (silver medal); Rasulbek G‘afforov — Specialized School named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, 10th grade (silver medal); Behruz Elmurodov — 21st School of Mirishkor District, 11th grade (silver medal); Ozodbek Axtamov — Specialized School named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, 11th grade (bronze medal); Umarbek Ubaydullayev — Specialized School of Sergeli District, 7th grade (Honourable Mention). The team raised the national flag high with a total of 5 medals — 4 silver and 1 bronze.
This result marks a new stage in Uzbekistan's participation in international science olympiads. The winners will be rewarded materially by the state.
The silver medalists will receive 562.5 million soums, while the bronze medalist will receive 375 million soums as a reward. It is worth noting that at the 2024 International Mathematics Olympiad, the Uzbekistan national team won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
This year, the number of silver medals has doubled. This achievement once again confirms the effectiveness of the reforms in our country's education system.
We hope that such successes will further inspire young people to engage in science, especially in the exact sciences.
