It is planned to increase the tariffs for hot water and heating services in the city of Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by the Kursiv publication. The People's Deputies Council approved Veolia Energy Tashkent company's proposal to raise the tariffs.
The new tariffs are expected to increase by 15 percent for the population, 40 percent for legal entities, and 18.8 percent for budget organizations. The decision must be signed by the mayor of the capital, Shavkat Umurzakov.
The company proposes to implement the new tariffs from October 1, 2025. According to Sevara Pardayeva, CEO of Veolia Energy Tashkent, currently the population's payment covers about 18 percent of the service cost, with the remaining part subsidized from the budget.
The government plans to completely abandon the subsidy system by 2030. For this reason, the company aims to gradually increase payments to 100 percent.
Additionally, in 2025 and 2026, Veolia plans to repair and replace over 474 kilometers of worn-out pipelines, carry out major repairs on 73 kilometers of heating networks, as well as renew boiler houses and pumping stations. These measures are aimed at improving service quality and ensuring uninterrupted heat supply.
