Significant steps are being taken in the digitalization of the healthcare system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The government of Uzbekistan has established procedures for prescribing medicines electronically in medical institutions and monitoring their movement. This new regulation allows doctors to track the movement of prescribed medicines through modern digital methods.
Electronic prescription forms are issued through a special “Electronic Prescription” module, and all information is automatically entered into the electronic medical record. Prescriptions are electronically verified using a QR code, and doctors enter all information about the medicines into the system.
Thus, the movement of medicines will be fully controlled. Starting from December 10, 2025, the electronic prescription system will be launched in Tashkent city and in 15 selected district medical institutions as part of a pilot project.
The international non-proprietary name of the medicine prescribed to the patient must be indicated, and the medicines dispensed according to the prescription must be officially registered in Uzbekistan. According to experts, the electronic prescription system will ensure transparent control of medicines and create convenience for patients.
Additionally, responsibility measures have been established for medical personnel who violate the system rules. Source of information: norma.uz.
