Strict measures are being taken against passengers who travel without paying the fare on public transport in Tashkent city. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Ministry of Transport, since the beginning of the year, more than 6,000 violators in the capital have been fined. Official data indicates that the Transport Control Inspection and the Tashkent City Public Transport Monitoring and Control Institution staff regularly conduct inspections on buses.
During these raids, 6,182 passengers were held accountable for traveling without paying the fare. According to Article 144 of the Administrative Liability Code, fare evasion on buses within and around the city results in a fine amounting to one-tenth of the base calculation amount.
Officials emphasize that the main goal of the raids is to ensure citizens comply with the law and maintain fair order in public transport. Each passenger paying for a ticket not only ensures the stable operation of the system but also contributes to improving the quality of service.
According to statistical data, in January of this year, a total of 15.2 million payments were made through ATTO transport and virtual cards. Of these, 11.7 million were registered on buses, and 3.5 million on the metro.
Through this, passengers managed to save approximately 3.2 billion soums on tariffs during the past month. Experts believe that traveling without a ticket is not only a violation of the law but also causes serious damage to the public transport system.
Therefore, the public is advised to strictly follow the rules, use electronic cards, and make payments on time (source: zamin.uz).
