As of September 23, 2025, solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan produced a record amount of electricity. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Kursiv media site, these plants generated a total of 8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity throughout the year. This figure is significantly higher than the previous record of 7 billion kilowatt-hours set in August.
The country has a total of 12 solar and 5 wind power plants, with a combined capacity of 4600 megawatts. This capacity has helped reduce natural gas consumption by approximately 2.4 billion cubic meters.
Additionally, this has led to a reduction of 3.5 million tons in harmful emissions released into the air. Considering all green energy sources in the country, including hydro, solar, and wind plants, a total of 13.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity was produced from the beginning of 2025 until September 23.
This figure accounts for 22 percent of the country's total electricity production. This amount of energy is sufficient to supply electricity to 7.3 million homes for nine months or 5.5 million homes for one year.
