On September 30, the concentration of fine PM2.5 particles in the air in Tashkent reached 40 micrograms per cubic meter. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This figure is eight times higher than the standard set by the World Health Organization (WHO), as noted in IQAir's 2024 report. As of 08:00, the levels of ozone and PM10 pollutants in the city did not exceed the permitted limit.
However, the concentration of PM2.5 particles is significantly above the WHO standard, and the air quality is considered harmful for vulnerable groups. Additionally, Tashkent has entered the top ten most polluted cities in the world.
Currently, Uzbekistan is not on the list of countries fully compliant with WHO air quality standards. Since this situation may pose a health risk to the population, it is necessary to strengthen measures to reduce air pollution factors.
