
The practical visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Republic of Tajikistan has successfully concluded. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This visit was of significant importance for bringing political and economic cooperation in the region to a new level. President Mirziyoyev held extensive negotiations with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
The negotiations discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries, expanding trade and economic relations, as well as the rational use of energy and water resources. The heads of state emphasized the importance of mutual trust and open dialogue to ensure stability and economic growth in the region.
Agreements were also reached on implementing new joint projects in the fields of industry, agriculture, transport, and logistics. President Mirziyoyev participated in the second summit held in Dushanbe in the “Central Asia – Russia” format and in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
At these forums, he put forward new initiatives to further deepen regional political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation. The Uzbek leader stressed the necessity of strengthening transport links, developing the digital economy, and creating joint programs in the field of ecology.
He also proposed establishing youth exchanges in education and culture. President Mirziyoyev’s speech was positively received by the summit participants.
The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized his readiness to develop relations with Uzbekistan in all directions. At the end of the visit, at Dushanbe International Airport, President Mirziyoyev was ceremoniously seen off by Tajikistan’s Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda and other officials.
Before returning to his homeland, the head of state expressed confidence in the prospects of friendship and regional cooperation between the two countries. According to him, the close neighborhood between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan is important not only for the two peoples but also for the stability of the entire Central Asia.
Analysts believe that this visit is expected to yield practical results not only politically but also economically. The new joint projects expected to be announced in the coming months will bring the relations between the two countries to a new level.
