The official visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to Uzbekistan has successfully concluded. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Expressing satisfaction with the results of the visit, after visiting the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent, he described the negotiations as a solid foundation for bilateral relations during a conversation with journalists. During the visit, a number of documents aimed at developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia were signed.
These agreements cover areas such as investment promotion and protection, labor migration, education, tourism, and high technologies. Special attention was given to creating a legal framework for Uzbek citizens to engage in lawful employment in Serbia.
This opens new opportunities for labor migrants and serves to guarantee their rights. Aleksandar Vučić discussed concrete steps to increase trade volume and implement joint projects during talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The parties noted significant potential in sectors such as mechanical engineering, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and IT. Additionally, it was emphasized that developing the "Central Asia - Balkans" transport corridors will open new economic opportunities for both regions.
The Serbian delegation did not limit their visit to the capital but also traveled to the city of Samarkand. Aleksandar Vučić participated there as an honorary guest at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
During the political dialogue, Vučić invited President Mirziyoyev to make an official visit to Belgrade. This visit is expected to take place following the intergovernmental commission meeting planned for 2026 in Tashkent.
This will contribute to strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries.
