One of the biggest and brightest astronomical events of the current year — the supermoon event — will be observed on November 5. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The British publication “The Guardian” also reported on this. According to scientists, on this night the Moon will be at its closest distance to the Earth — even closer than 357 thousand kilometers.
For this reason, the Moon will appear approximately 8 percent larger and 16 percent brighter than usual. Experts explain that a “supermoon” refers to the time when the Moon is at the closest point to the Earth in its orbit and is fully illuminated.
At this time, the Moon’s appearance is much more impressive and beautiful compared to a regular full moon. The good news for observers is that this event can be seen from almost all parts of the world, including the skies over Uzbekistan.
In Tashkent, the Moon will rise at 21:50. According to astronomers, the most spectacular view of the Moon is observed exactly at the time of its rise.
Additionally, this is the last supermoon event of the year. If the weather is clear and calm, it will be possible to enjoy this beautiful sight with the naked eye, without any instruments.
