The procedure for payment for overtime work has been updated in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The new law signed by the President (Law No. O‘RQ–1095, November 11, 2025) is aimed at improving labor relations and strengthening employees' rights. This was reported by *Norma.uz*.
According to the new law, a number of opportunities have been created in the activities of private employment agencies. From now on, they will be able to organize training courses in professional and foreign languages, cooperate with employers abroad, and independently manage their deposit funds.
Additionally, the previous restriction on overtime work has been lifted. Previously, the Labor Code stipulated that this should not exceed 120 hours per year.
According to the new procedure, based on an agreement between the employer and the employee, these hours are not limited. The amount of payment for overtime work has also been established under a new system.
For the first two hours, at least 1.5 times the regular pay is provided, and if working more than two hours, at least double the pay is given. According to experts, these changes will enhance the transparency of labor relations, protect employees' rights, and increase the efficiency of the private employment system.
