New York City Mayor Eric Adams is expected to visit Uzbekistan for a five-day trip. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by *The New York Times*. Despite public criticism, this trip is being made as part of the mayor's international visits.
It is reported that Eric Adams will depart from Israel on Tuesday and arrive in the country at the invitation of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. However, these trips are considered indifferent to the interests of New York residents due to their high costs and being financed by taxes.
Mayor's representatives emphasize that economic cooperation and development issues are being discussed during these visits. According to them, such trips are not cheap because the mayor travels with security personnel and assistants.
For example, Eric Adams went to Israel with six advisors, while he visited Albania and Uzbekistan with one assistant each. Additionally, according to information, Eric Adams will leave his position on January 1.
He will be succeeded by Zohran Mamdani, who belongs to the progressive wing of the Democrats. Mamdani is expected to make history as the first Muslim person in this position.
