New York City Mayor Eric Adams visited the Islamic Civilization Center located in Tashkent as the head of a delegation. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This center was established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, with the main goal of studying Islamic cultural heritage and making it accessible to the wider public. During the visit, guests were provided with detailed information about the center's activities, its scientific and educational directions, and its historical significance.
The center houses ancient manuscripts, unique artifacts, and interactive exhibitions created with the help of modern technologies. After visiting the center, Eric Adams emphasized that he gained a deeper understanding of Islam as a religion of peace, humanity, and a great civilization legacy.
He also noted that the center allows everyone to objectively see the enormous contribution of Islam to world civilization. According to Eric Adams, the exhibitions organized based on video content, interactive technologies, and artificial intelligence leave a strong impression on visitors.
Such a modern approach makes the exhibitions understandable and interesting for people of all ages. During the visit, the New York mayor closely acquainted himself with the exhibitions dedicated to the pre-Islamic period and the First Renaissance.
He also visited the Quran hall and other sections, studying the rich cultural and scientific heritage there. It should be noted that the First Renaissance is a scientific term referring to the period of flourishing science, culture, and philosophy in the 9th-12th centuries in Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm, and other cities of the region.
