
In 2024, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development allocated a record amount of 2.26 billion dollars to the Central Asia region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Out of this amount, 938 million dollars were allocated to Uzbekistan. These figures were discussed at the third Economic Forum "European Union – Central Asia" held in Tashkent city.
The event was attended by over 400 participants from 32 countries. It was noted that over the past seven years, the trade volume between the European Union and Central Asian countries has quadrupled, reaching 54 billion euros.
Moreover, the European Union has directed more than 100 billion euros in direct investments to the region, strengthening its position as the largest investor in Central Asia. According to Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, relations with the European Union are steadily strengthening and entering a new phase.
During the forum, issues such as improving the business environment, attracting investments, developing value chains, training personnel, and deepening regional integration were discussed. At the conclusion of the event, six important documents related to ecology, irrigation systems, geoinformation management, regulation, and security were signed.
