A new opportunity has been created in Uzbekistan for alimony payers to travel abroad. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, individuals obligated to pay alimony can temporarily lift restrictions based on an insurance policy and travel abroad for up to three months. This new procedure is not related to a presidential decree but was introduced by a joint decision of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the State Security Service.
According to the new regulation, if an alimony payer presents an insurance policy to the state executor, the restriction on their travel abroad will be temporarily lifted. The insurance policy is issued only by licensed insurance companies, and its validity is automatically verified through the Mandatory Enforcement Bureau (MIB) information system.
This insurance mechanism is aimed at guaranteeing alimony payments. That is, even if the debtor leaves the country and does not return, their alimony payments will be covered through insurance.
The terms of insurance are determined based on an agreement between insurance companies and the MIB. Prior to the rule that came into effect on November 26, alimony payers could only temporarily lift travel restrictions in two cases: when necessary for medical treatment abroad or when part of an official delegation based on a decision by the President, Cabinet of Ministers, or parliament.
The new procedure provides great convenience for alimony payers and serves to protect their rights. Source: zamin.uz
