A new intelligent transport system aimed at improving traffic management is being introduced in the city of Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This system is managed through a special control center operating based on modern technologies. According to the presidential decree, the main task of the established center is to digitize and globally modernize the capital's road infrastructure.
The goal is to fully automate all traffic processes by February 1, 2027. One of the important aspects of the new system is strengthening environmental requirements.
In particular, vehicles that do not match the color of the ecological sticker will not be automatically allowed into designated zones. This will not only reduce congestion in the city center but also contribute to environmental protection.
The center will work in the following directions: monitoring transport and pedestrian movement throughout the city, developing infrastructure based on international experience, creating a Tashkent transport database, improving traffic culture, encouraging the use of public transport, and enhancing the ecological environment. Additionally, the development of overground metro, multi-story parking lots, and other infrastructure is planned.
The intelligent transport system analyzes traffic in real-time through video surveillance cameras, sensors, and automated traffic light control. This system prioritizes emergency services such as ambulances, fire safety, and other special services.
At the same time, cargo transportation rules, as well as weight and volume standards for vehicles, will be strictly controlled. Target indicators for the development of Tashkent's transport system have been approved until 2030.
These reforms will not only reduce congestion but also help transform the city into a safe, comfortable, and environmentally sustainable area. These measures will create favorable conditions for all traffic participants and turn the capital into a city with a modern transport system.
