
Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will make an official visit to Japan from December 18 to 20 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the visit, the head of state is scheduled to participate in the first summit held within the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue. This visit is expected to bring the strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Japan to a new level.
As part of the president's trip, meetings are planned in Tokyo with Japan's Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, parliamentary leadership, government representatives, leaders of political parties, and rectors of prestigious universities. These discussions will focus on further strengthening the reliable cooperation between the two countries.
The agenda of the visit includes deepening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, developing multifaceted cooperation, and implementing long-term joint projects. Opportunities to enrich political, economic, scientific, and cultural ties will also be considered.
Additionally, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold meetings with leaders of major Japanese companies and financial institutions. These meetings will address expanding trade and economic cooperation, promoting investment projects, and implementing joint initiatives.
At the conclusion of the visit, a number of documents strengthening bilateral cooperation are expected to be signed. At the "Central Asia + Japan" summit, issues such as developing the "green economy," sustainable development, strengthening transport and logistics connections, regional cooperation, and enhancing human capital potential will be discussed.
At the end of the summit, the Tokyo Declaration will be adopted, and this document is expected to elevate cooperation between Central Asian countries and Japan to a new level.
