During the inspection of construction works being carried out in New Tashkent, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed new bridge, metro, and parking projects. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These projects are aimed at improving transport connections between Tashkent and New Tashkent, creating comfortable and safe movement opportunities for the population. This was reported by podrobno.uz.
The new bridge being built over the Chirchik River will connect the capital with New Tashkent. Its daily capacity is planned to be 40–50 thousand vehicles.
Construction works began at the end of this year. The bridge is being built taking into account environmental requirements: the coastal areas will be landscaped, greening works will be carried out, and energy-saving lighting systems will be installed.
In addition, pedestrian and bicycle paths will also be established. It is also planned to build a two-lane tram line over the bridge.
The President was also presented with the project of a new 21-kilometer metro line connecting New Tashkent with Tashkent. On this route, 9 modern stations will be built, and it is expected to serve 230 thousand passengers daily.
The metro line will be integrated with the existing network, forming a unified transport system. The head of state also inspected the construction process at one of the future stations.
This station will be combined with a 20 thousand square meter parking lot. The project envisages clear separation of car, pedestrian, and public transport flows.
Special attention is paid to safety and functionality issues. Currently, earthworks and concrete pouring processes are ongoing.
The entire complex is planned to be commissioned in 2027. The President emphasized the strategic importance of the projects for the development of New Tashkent and gave instructions to ensure construction quality and strict adherence to the set deadlines.
It should be recalled that on December 30, Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited the construction sites of the “New Uzbekistan” University and the National Library buildings in New Tashkent.
