Protection for whistleblowers exposing corruption will be strengthened

A new mechanism will be introduced in Uzbekistan to protect citizens who report cases of corruption. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This is established by a Presidential decree aimed at improving the anti-corruption system and supporting citizens. According to this decree, the Anti-Corruption Agency will issue protection orders to individuals who report corruption.
These orders will be used to protect them from pressure and persecution. Additionally, to encourage active participation in the fight against corruption, a "Contribution to the Fight Against Corruption" breastplate will be established.
This will promote active citizen involvement in combating corruption. By June 2026, the Agency, in cooperation with other state bodies, will develop a draft regulatory legal document to regulate the incentive system.
Furthermore, the "E-Anticor.uz" platform will be modernized based on South Korea's Clean Portal experience and digitalization efforts will be carried out. This platform is intended to support individuals who report corruption cases.
From July 1, 2026, the "Digital Compliance" information system will be launched on a trial basis. This system will ensure rapid information exchange between state bodies and organizations and digitalize the activities of internal anti-corruption units.
The decree also grants the Agency the right to issue mandatory recommendations to state bodies and organizations to prevent violations. In addition, the anti-corruption cluster's activities have been approved, aimed at strengthening cooperation between state bodies, law enforcement agencies, and civil society institutions.
