The best chess players of the year in Uzbekistan have been determined

On January 10, a press conference was organized by the Uzbekistan Chess Federation. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This event became one of the significant moments in the country's chess life. The results of 2025 were reviewed, and plans and goals set for 2026 were announced.
Additionally, chess players and representatives of the field who achieved high results throughout the year were honored. According to the federation's information, Javohir Sindorov, the 2025 FIDE World Cup winner, was named "Best Chess Player of the Year" in Uzbekistan.
His reliable play in international competitions and successes in major tournaments greatly contributed to enhancing the country's chess reputation. Among women, national team member Umida Omonova was recognized as the "Best Female Chess Player of the Year."
She stood out with her determined play and high results in competitions. Talented young chess players were also acknowledged in the youth category.
Among those under 12 years old, Nurmuhammad Nematillaxonov and Khusnora Khusniddinova, and among those under 20 years old, Afruza Hamdamova and Muhiddin Madaminov were selected as the best young chess players of the year. In para chess, Marsel Shoyusupov and Selbi Kakisheva were awarded for their high achievements.
Furthermore, honorary chess player Oktam Sheraliyev, best referee Komiljon Azizov, analyst Ulugbek Tillayev, and commentator Anton Kim were also specially acknowledged for their services. At the end of the event, it was noted that the winners' achievements lay a solid foundation for the future of chess in Uzbekistan.
