The results of the "Diversity Visa Lottery," also known as the Green Card program, for the year 2025 have been announced, which is traditionally held annually by the government of the United States. This was officially reported by the Kentucky Consulate Center located in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Within the framework of this popular program, every year 55,000 individuals from around the world are given the opportunity to live permanently in the USA. This year, more than 5,500 of these lottery winnings have been awarded to citizens of Uzbekistan. This figure once again confirms the high interest and participation of Uzbekistan citizens in this program.
The DV-2025 program is organized based on section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of the United States, which states that up to 55,000 permanent residence visas are granted annually to citizens of countries with relatively low immigration rates to the USA.
According to the announced results for 2025, nearly 131,000 applicants have been initially registered, and each of them has been notified about this news. This is implemented as an additional precautionary measure since not all of the initially selected 55,000 participants may decide to participate in the subsequent processes. Thus, it is planned that all visas allocated for DV-2025 during the 2025 fiscal year will be fully distributed.
It is worth noting that during the announcement of this year's results, due to a technical error, Uzbekistan was recorded among the countries of the European region. If compared with the countries of the Asian region, our country would have ranked first in this region. The next highest winnings after Uzbekistan were achieved by citizens of Iran and Afghanistan.
The Green Card lottery is an important program that provides Uzbekistan citizens with the opportunity to live and work legally in the USA. Every year, thousands of our compatriots take advantage of this opportunity to take a significant step in building their futures in the overseas country.
The editorial team of Zamin.uz congratulates our compatriots who have won in this program and wishes them great success in their future lives!
