Green technical colleges will be opened as part of the Eco-civilization project.

Based on Decree No. PQ-110 adopted by the President of Uzbekistan on March 25, 2026, extensive measures have been established to develop environmental education, science, and social promotion within the framework of the national "Eco-culture" project. Zamin.uz reported on this.
The main objective of this project is to expand the system for training qualified personnel to ensure nature conservation and sustainable development across all regions of the country. According to the decree, it is planned to establish 14 "green" technical colleges in each region during 2026–2027.
These educational institutions will train modern and qualified specialists, taking into account the ecological, social, and economic needs of the regions. As a result, young people will enhance their professional knowledge and practical skills to meet modern standards.
Furthermore, it is planned that a total of 10,000 mid-level specialists will be trained from these technical colleges by 2030. This will contribute to further developing the environmental education system and creating a reserve of professional personnel in the field of environmental protection.
The decree also sets the task of increasing the number of specialists who have obtained scientific degrees in ecology, nature conservation, and climate change to 150 by 2026–2028. This measure also aims to engage young scientists and specialists in scientific activities.
Starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, certain educational institutions will be reorganized as "green" technical colleges. To strengthen their material and technical base and improve the quality of education, these technical colleges will be affiliated with the Central Asian University for Environmental Studies and Climate Change in cooperation with the Agency of Vocational Education.
This will strengthen organic links with higher education institutions and help integrate knowledge and practice. Thus, through the "green" technical colleges project, the environmental education system in Uzbekistan will become more active, a reserve of qualified personnel will be created, and a solid foundation will be laid for protecting a sustainable environment in the future.
