The number of people who moved to Uzbekistan reached one thousand five hundred and nine.

According to official data released by the State Statistics Committee, last year a total of 1,509 people moved from foreign countries to the Republic of Uzbekistan as their permanent residence. Zamin.uz reported on this matter.
This important indicator allows for an in-depth analysis of demographic changes and migration processes within our country. The largest portion of the new arrivals came from the Russian Federation, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the total.
Kazakhstan ranks second, with migrants from this country making up 7 percent. Third are citizens of Tajikistan, followed by Kyrgyzstan in fourth place and Turkmenistan in fifth.
The remainder arrived from various other countries around the world, deciding to build a new life in Uzbekistan. Analyzing the distribution by region reveals that the capital city of Tashkent is the primary destination accepting the most migrants.
Nearly 8 percent, or 698 new permanent residents, settled in Tashkent city. The surrounding Tashkent region received 275 people, while the Republic of Karakalpakstan, one of Uzbekistan's largest regions, saw 101 citizens relocate there.
In other regions of the country, these figures were recorded at relatively lower levels. For example, 24 new arrivals were registered in the Syr Darya region and 14 in the Fergana region.
Twelve people settled in each of the Jizzakh and Navoi regions, 11 in the Bukhara region, and 7 in the Khorezm region. In the Qashqadaryo and Samarkand regions, 2 people settled in each, while only one new permanent resident was registered in the Namangan region last year.
These figures clearly demonstrate inter-regional differences and indicate where the population is heading.
