Starting from 2025, a five-day work week will be introduced for medical staff.

Starting April 1, 2026, convenient changes will be implemented in the operations of state medical institutions in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Zamin.uz reported on this.
From then on, the working schedule of hospitals and clinics will be switched from a traditional six-day week to a five-day week. This decision was made with the aim of improving working conditions for employees and optimizing their work schedules.
This anticipated news, welcomed by many experts and members of society, continues to drive research and development in the healthcare sector. An important point is that although the work week has been shortened by one day, the monthly salaries and social guarantees of medical workers will remain unchanged.
In other words, their financial income will not decrease due to the reduction in working days. The state has paid special attention to this situation, providing solid guarantees for employees.
Transitioning to a five-day work week expands the opportunities for medical workers to take breaks and rest. This increases their interest in their profession and helps reduce dissatisfaction among staff.
At the same time, it is guaranteed that there will be no interruptions in the process of providing quality medical care to citizens. The schedule and quality of service for patients will be maintained.
Medical institutions will continue to accept patients, consult with doctors, and carry out treatment processes without interruption based on the new plan. This measure is one of the serious steps taken to protect public health and increase the efficiency of medical services.
In the future, this experience is expected to be extended to other sectors as well.
