An important document has been adopted in Uzbekistan regarding the efficient use of natural resources, especially flood and rainwater, as well as improving the water supply system for agricultural lands. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Based on the relevant decision of the head of our state, the construction of five large floodwater reservoirs is planned in various regions of the country starting from 2027. This initiative is a strategic step aimed at preventing water shortages under climate change conditions and ensuring the rational use of existing reserves.

As a result of the planned projects, irrigation work will be brought to a new qualitative level in several regions. Speaking in precise figures, water supply will be fundamentally improved on an area of 7,000 hectares in Samarkand region, 2,000 hectares in Tashkent region, and 300 hectares in Jizzakh region.

This, in turn, will contribute to increasing the productivity of farming and ensuring food security. New initiatives will not only deliver water to existing lands but also create opportunities for bringing previously unused lands into circulation.

According to the program, 3,300 hectares of new land in Samarkand region and 300 hectares in Tashkent region will be introduced into agricultural circulation. Such large-scale work will not only enhance the economic efficiency of the regions but also lay the groundwork for the creation of new jobs.

The decision has approved an ambitious construction program for the years 2027–2030, which will be implemented step by step. Land plots necessary for the construction of water reservoirs and their related infrastructure facilities will be allocated for community needs in accordance with the procedure established by legislative acts.

In this regard, the interests of citizens and business entities will be fully protected. It is guaranteed that any possible property damage that may occur during the project will be fully compensated on a legal basis.

In conclusion, it can be said that the mentioned reforms are aimed at preventing the wasteful use of water resources generously provided by nature and directing them toward public prosperity. The construction of five new floodwater reservoirs will serve as a significant milestone in ensuring stability in agriculture and implementing modern approaches to water resource management.
