Russia is trying to encircle Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region
Russian troops are attempting to break through Ukraine's defenses in the Kursk region and encircle the group of Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area. This was reported by several military analysts and media outlets on March 7.

DeepState analysis: Intensification of attacks and North Korean military

According to Ukraine's DeepState project, Russian troops have broken through the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces located south of the village of Kurilovka by approximately 5 km, nearly reaching the state border with Ukraine's Sumy region. Project analysts emphasize that Russia is using North Korean (DPRK) troops in this attack.

DeepState notes that the main objective of Russian troops in this direction is to gain control over the H07 highway, which serves as a supply line for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Currently, Russian troops have approached this road by about 6 km.

Russia's two-pronged attack

Russian Armed Forces are currently intensifying attacks from northern territories as well. Their troops have crossed the state border and attacked the villages of Juravka and Novenkoye located in Ukraine's Sumy region. This movement allows Russia to approach the H07 road and the Sudja border checkpoint. Currently, Russian troops are located 5 km away in this direction.

Response of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

According to a source among Ukrainian military personnel in the Kursk region reported by the publication "Ukrainskaya pravda," efforts are being made to restrain Russian troops in order to avoid the risk of partial or complete encirclement of Ukraine's defenses in this area.

According to the source, Russia has been conducting attack operations in this area gradually and systematically. "Before the New Year, the Russians entered Kurilovka, where our brigade abandoned its positions. After that, the enemy consolidated its forces and carried out attack operations step by step. Yesterday and the day before, they achieved certain success," the military source said.

Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to stabilize the situation and prevent the enemy from gaining full control over communication routes.

This situation holds serious strategic significance for Ukraine, and the future developments of military actions in the area could be decisive for both sides.
