The process of receiving international aid in the Gaza Strip is becoming increasingly complicated and dangerous. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In recent events, a special aid day designated for women ended in death in a manner contrary to humanity. On July 24, GHF announced a food distribution day exclusively for women on social media.
During the event organized in the Rofah district, men were asked not to attend, and the announcements featured images of smiling women and aid boxes. However, for the population living in difficult conditions, especially women, this did not guarantee safety.
On that day, at least two women lost their lives, one of whom was Maryam, a mother of seven. Maryam's husband had died at the beginning of the war, and she had been living with her children on just flat soup in recent weeks.
Her sister Havla said that although her children advised her not to go out due to the danger, Maryam thought the risk was reduced because of the women's day. When they arrived at the aid distribution site, the situation spiraled out of control.
To push the women back, tear gas and stun grenades were used. When Havla called her sister, an unknown person answered the phone and informed her that Maryam had been shot and was now being taken to the Red Cross hospital.
In subsequent calls, it was reported that Maryam had been injured in the head and later died. She had gone out looking for food for her children but sacrificed her life.
According to UN data, since the GHF system was launched in May, over 1,000 Palestinians, mostly killed while trying to receive aid, have been killed by Israeli forces. Many incidents are occurring near aid distribution points.
A former American soldier named Anton stated that he had never seen such brutality and the use of force against innocent civilians. He witnessed Israeli forces firing at unarmed civilians.
The GHF system was established with the support of the US and Israel, and it is being criticized by the UN and other international organizations. Previously, there were over 400 aid distribution points throughout Gaza, but now only 4 GHF centers are operational.
Of these, only 1-2 operate daily, and reaching them is considered very dangerous, forcing people to enter military zones. The UN has deemed this system ethically unacceptable and has withdrawn from cooperation.
Some European countries have also criticized food deliveries through the GHF. Israel claims that the aid is controlled by HAMAS, but no evidence has been provided to support such claims.
Cases of death due to hunger are increasing in Gaza. UN representatives emphasize that aid must be delivered to the region like a flood to prevent a humanitarian disaster.
According to international law, Israel, which exercises military control over Gaza, has the obligation to protect the civilian population and provide food. However, in practice, people's lives are being lost.
According to Maryam's sister Havla, she wishes for only one thing: for the aid centers to be closed, as they are a death trap. Maryam went out looking for food for her children, but her body was returned only after being carried by people.
This incident once again highlights how severe and dangerous the humanitarian situation is.
