Allianz, one of the major insurance companies in Germany, officially announced that many personal data of its customers from its North American division, "Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America," were stolen as a result of a cyberattack. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The company stated that on July 16, 2025, unknown cybercriminals illegally accessed a third-party cloud-based customer management system and obtained data. The statement emphasized that the hackers managed to acquire personally identifiable information related to customers, financial advisors, and some employees.
This attack was carried out using social engineering techniques. Social engineering is a method based on human psychology rather than technological tools, where perpetrators pose as representatives of a trusted organization or acquaintances to solicit confidential information from users.
Allianz is urging its customers to be cautious and pay attention to suspicious communications. At the same time, the company is continuing its efforts to strengthen security measures and mitigate damages.
It is emphasized that protecting customers' personal information is a priority task for the company. Every user must be vigilant in the fight against cyberattacks.
