The humanitarian crisis at the Russia-Georgia border is escalating. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to reports, 11 Ukrainians deported from Russian territory are trying to return to their homeland, Ukraine. However, they are facing serious difficulties in transiting through Georgian territory.
Due to the lack of foreign passports, they have been deprived of transit options and are forced to move only with temporary certificates. Currently, these individuals are living in a basement building located at the Georgian border post.
According to official information, although this building has only 20 places, nearly 100 people, including women, are residing there. People have been prohibited from going outside, and the lack of necessary conditions is further complicating the situation.
Such problems in border areas between countries indicate the existence of unresolved issues in the field of human rights and migration policy. People are left in severe and desperate conditions in a short period.
Ukrainian migrants emphasize that they have been forced to declare hunger strike, as they have no other means to protect their rights. Currently, no fundamental changes are observed in the situation, and migrants are hoping for the assistance of international organizations and human rights defenders.
This humanitarian crisis and issues of justice in border policy remain in the public eye. It is still unknown how the situation will change in the coming days.
