On August 17, 2025, a serious emergency occurred on a Condor Airways Boeing 757-300 aircraft that took off from Corfu Airport in Greece. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The plane had a total of 273 passengers and 8 crew members on board. A few minutes after takeoff, a malfunction occurred in the engine, which caught fire.
According to local witnesses, a sound resembling an explosion was first heard, followed by a bright flame resembling a rocket. The pilots initially tried to shut down the engine, but this decision increased the risk of the flight.
As a result, the plane's right engine stopped at an altitude of 450 meters. A red alert was declared at Corfu Airport, and emergency landing protocols were activated.
Nevertheless, the pilots decided to divert the plane to Brindisi Airport in Italy. The plane climbed to an altitude of 8,000 feet and landed safely in Brindisi.
In a statement, Condor Airways apologized to the passengers and emphasized that their safety has always been the top priority. The airline announced that all necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members.
This incident once again highlighted the importance of aircraft safety and preparedness for emergencies.
