HAMAS movement accepted the 60-day ceasefire proposal developed by US President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this proposal, the ceasefire will be implemented and Israeli hostages will be released in two stages. Sources indicate that under the proposal, Israel should release Palestinian prisoners and allow humanitarian aid to be delivered to the Gaza Strip.
This is carried out to reduce tensions in the area, provide assistance to the population, and prevent new crises. Negotiations are being conducted with the mediation of Egypt and Qatar.
Earlier, the Egyptian government announced that the final version of the proposal had been presented to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. So far, the Israeli side has not made an official statement on this matter.
Since the war between Israel and HAMAS began, at least over 62,000 people have died in Gaza. The majority of the population has been displaced multiple times, most homes have been destroyed, and health, water, and sanitation systems have ceased to function.
In the last 24 hours, 5 people, including 2 children, have died due to starvation and the consequences of the war, bringing the total to 263 since the start of the conflict. Experts emphasize that the ceasefire proposal will help ease the emergency situation in the region and save civilian lives.
The international community is closely monitoring this process.
