A fire broke out on the morning of August 20 at a new facility under construction in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, which is planned to be the largest football stadium in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Several fire services quickly arrived at the scene, and thanks to their prompt actions, the fire was extinguished in a short time. So far, the causes of the fire and the extent of the material damage to the stadium have not been determined.
The total area of the new stadium is 9.5 hectares. Once construction is completed, it will be able to accommodate 30,000 spectators.
The stadium will meet international standards and will enable Tajikistan to host international football competitions. This facility will play an important role in the development of football and sports culture in the country.
The project began in 2019 and is planned to be completed in 2026 in honor of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence. The construction is being carried out by a Chinese company within the framework of FIFA projects.
The stadium will feature two-tiered, four-row stands, a special zone for VIP guests with 448 seats, a promenade area, changing rooms, showers and medical points, sports halls, cafes, and a parking lot for 2,000 cars. Additionally, 72 television monitors and 312 special lights will be installed in the stadium, ensuring high-quality displays.
To provide convenience for spectators, two bridges over the Varzob and Luchob rivers are planned to be built. Also, at the initiative of Rustam Imomali, president of the Tajikistan Football Federation, a museum dedicated to the history and development of national football is planned to be opened on the stadium grounds.
This museum will be an important and interesting place for football fans and those interested in the country's sports history. In conclusion, the new stadium in Dushanbe will not only renew the country's sports infrastructure but also play a significant role in enhancing Tajikistan's position on the international sports stage.
