Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy accused Russia of trying to halt peace negotiations and prolong the war. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, Moscow is avoiding any meetings, while Ukraine is ready for negotiations. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump is trying to bring the leaders of the two countries together for a meeting.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, on the other hand, accused Zelenskiy of rejecting all proposals. He emphasized that the agenda necessary for holding a meeting is not yet prepared.
Lavrov also stated that Ukraine must give up joining NATO. Donald Trump previously met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and then with Zelenskiy and European leaders.
He stressed that the process of stopping the war is one of the most complex tasks. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that guarantees are being developed with Western countries to ensure Ukraine's security.
European Union diplomat Kaja Kallas called Russia's demand for territorial concessions from Ukraine a "trap." In her opinion, Russia is not ready to make any concessions and continues its aggression.
Meanwhile, Russia carried out one of its strongest attacks on Ukraine. Overnight, 574 drones and 40 missiles were launched.
In response, Ukraine targeted an oil pumping station on Russian territory. This incident caused a temporary halt in oil deliveries to Hungary and Slovakia.
The war continues, and the situation remains tense.
