Unique engineering works were carried out in the city of Kiruna, Sweden. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The historic wooden church, weighing 672 tons, was completely moved to a new location five kilometers away. This decision is related to the expansion of Europe's largest underground iron mine located around the city.
Due to the expansion, many buildings, including cultural heritage sites, were at risk, so they are being relocated to other areas. This church is one of such important structures, considered to have historical and architectural significance.
The relocation process was carried out using specially prepared platforms and modern equipment. Engineers carefully monitored every detail to prevent damage to the wooden structure.
The local population watched this process with great interest, as the church is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of the city. Now the church will continue its activities at the new location, preserving its original appearance.
This project was recognized as an important initiative in Sweden aimed at balancing cultural heritage preservation and industrial development.
