An unexpected event occurred in the political arena of the Netherlands. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The country's King Willem-Alexander accepted the resignations of five senior ministers belonging to the "New Social Contract" party in the government. The main reason for the resignations is the escalation of the situation in the Gaza Strip and the ineffectiveness in taking measures against Israel.
Among those who resigned are Foreign Minister Kaspar Veldkamp, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Affairs and Employment Eddy van Heyem, Interior Minister Judith Autermark, Minister of Education, Culture and Science Eppo Breyns, and Minister of Health, Social Affairs and Sport Daniel Jansen. Additionally, four state secretaries also stepped down.
Kaspar Veldkamp had proposed strict measures against Israel, but this initiative was not sufficiently supported by the parliament and the party. For this reason, he decided to resign, and other party members joined his decision.
Experts believe that these resignations may further intensify the situation within the Dutch government. Moreover, this event may mark the beginning of a new phase in the country's foreign policy.
This situation once again highlighted the disagreements among political forces in Europe regarding the Gaza issue.
