The issue of sending a military contingent to Ukraine within NATO is not currently being discussed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was stated by the chairman of the alliance's military committee, Giuseppe Cavo Dragone. According to him, such matters are mostly considered within the framework of international politics and fall under the topics of dialogue with Moscow.
Dragone emphasized that there have been no conversations about this within NATO, and the topic has not been raised on the agenda. He said that some countries might be discussing sending a military contingent in bilateral talks, but this is not being discussed at the overall alliance level.
On August 18, former President Donald Trump expressed his readiness to send American troops to Ukraine, but later changed his mind and announced his willingness to provide aerial assistance to European countries. Thus, alliance officials openly state that the issue of sending a military contingent to Ukraine within NATO is not being seriously considered.
If such initiatives exist, they are only being discussed within the framework of bilateral relations between certain countries. Overall, this topic has not yet entered the NATO agenda and is not being widely discussed.
