French police have arrested two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, who planned terrorist attacks against the Eiffel Tower and synagogues. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident was reported by the Le Figaro publication. According to the information, the teenagers were born near Paris and raised in Arab-Muslim families.
They expressed sympathy for the ideas of the ISIS group and regularly exchanged violent content. It was also revealed that they discussed traveling abroad for jihad.
Recently, they declared their intention to carry out attacks on French territory. In particular, they focused on the Eiffel Tower and synagogues in connection with Israel's military operations in Gaza.
According to the publication, although they had not specified the exact attack location, they began searching for weapons through dark internet networks. On August 1, the teenagers were brought to court on charges of criminal association for terrorist purposes.
Le Figaro writes that the increasing tendency towards terrorism among minors in France is causing serious concern. In 2022, only two children were detained for this crime, while in 2023 their number rose to 15, and in 2024 it reached 18.
Since the beginning of 2025, another 13 minors have been arrested. According to a Europol report, one-third of those suspected of terrorism in the European Union are under 20 years old.
Therefore, in May 2023, the French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office established a special division specifically to work with minors. This measure aims to strengthen the fight against terrorism among young people.
