The South Korean parliament has passed a law banning the use of mobile phones during lessons in schools. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This new regulation will come into effect starting March 2026. The main goal of the law is to protect students from phone addiction and to increase attention during classes.
Research shows that half of Korean youth use smartphones excessively, which negatively affects their academic performance. From now on, the use of phones during lessons will be strictly prohibited.
Phones will only be allowed in emergencies or when necessary for the educational process. Teachers will be granted the authority to restrict phone usage within school premises.
Students with disabilities will have access to special devices. Parents and teachers support this decision because phones harm students' education and health.
At the same time, some experts emphasize that this step will not completely solve the problem.
