Cooperation in the field of migration with Austria and the USA: new opportunities for Uzbeks

Uzbekistan continues to expand international cooperation in the field of labor migration. After Germany and France, Austria has also expressed its readiness to sign an agreement with Uzbekistan on labor migration. Additionally, opportunities for Uzbek medical specialists to work in the USA and Qatar are increasing.
Job opportunities in Austria
According to the Migration Agency, representatives of the agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs, are negotiating with official Austrian authorities.
During the meetings, issues related to the development of labor migration, placing Uzbek citizens in high-paying jobs in Austria, and drafting an intergovernmental agreement between the two countries were discussed.
Furthermore, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber will open a representative office in Uzbekistan in April of this year. Within this framework, a "Labor Forum" is planned to be organized with the participation of major employers from Austria.
Uzbek nurses have the opportunity to work in the USA and Qatar
Another important news is that Uzbek medical specialists may be sent to work in the USA and Qatar.
In the USA, there is a demand for more than 1 million nurses by 2030. In this regard, an agreement was signed between the Migration Agency and the New Future Success Academy. In this process, training programs will be organized, and candidates will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the USA.
Qatar is also inviting Uzbek nurses for employment. Currently, there are 10 job positions available, with a salary of 2750 dollars per month. The job is three shifts, with a weekly schedule of 48 hours over 6 days. Candidates must be aged 18−50, have 2 years of work experience in the medical field, and have excellent English proficiency.
The role of migrants in Uzbekistan's economy
From 2018 to 2023, 16 percent of the population's income in Uzbekistan came from labor migrants. Every year, compatriots working abroad send 12−15 billion dollars back to Uzbekistan, which is a significant source for the country's economy.
Uzbekistan is expanding cooperation in the field of labor migration with countries such as Germany, France, Austria, the USA, and Qatar. The signing of an agreement with Austria and the opportunities to work in the USA and Qatar open new doors for our citizens. This will not only benefit our compatriots but also have a positive impact on Uzbekistan's economy.
