The drug addiction problem in Germany is worsening. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Hendrik Strek, a government representative, synthetic opioids are particularly widespread in the market. These substances are considered to be hundreds of times stronger than heroin and pose a significant threat to human life.
Synthetic agents called nitazenes are especially dangerous, as even a very small amount can harm a person's life. According to official statistics, in 2023, the number of deaths due to drug addiction in Germany reached the highest level in recent years.
An average of six people die daily as a result of narcotics. The most concerning aspect is that the death rate among people under 30 years old has increased by 14 percent.
As experts emphasize, substances known as "crack" cause strong addiction even with a single use. The increase in drug sales via the internet and their delivery to home addresses is further complicating the problem.
According to Hendrik Strek, not only synthetic opioids but also crack and cocaine use is sharply increasing in Germany. Due to the rapidly changing market, if immediate measures are not taken, the situation could take a more dangerous turn.
Experts and officials consider it necessary to pay serious attention to drug-related problems in the country. Otherwise, catastrophic consequences are likely to increase.
