The UK Defence Secretary Jon Healy made an important statement during his visit to Kyiv. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, the London government has provided significant military aid to Ukraine using frozen Russian assets. According to information announced on September 3, the funds seized from Russia were spent on purchasing weapons and military equipment for Ukraine.
The total value of these funds exceeded one billion pounds sterling. Additionally, contracts have been signed in various sectors based on these funds, delivering necessary resources to the Kyiv army.
According to the official website of the UK government, the funds enabled the delivery of hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles, and spare parts for weapons to Ukraine. Furthermore, new agreements were signed for the repair and maintenance of military equipment and vehicles.
In the last 50 days, Ukraine has received substantial aid from the UK. Specifically, 4.7 million rounds of ammunition, over 60,000 artillery shells, modern missiles and missile systems, more than 2,500 drones, over 200 electronic warfare systems, 100 types of light weapons, as well as more than 30 special equipment and additional air defense devices were delivered.
Experts believe that such an amount of aid will significantly enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities. The UK, in turn, continues to strengthen political and economic pressure against Russia.
These measures are regarded as an important step aimed at strengthening security in the region.
