Germany's Wangerooge island is looking for a new mayor – the announcement was published in the newspaper
On the Wangerooge island located in the North Sea of Germany, the local government has started searching for a suitable candidate for the leadership position. This time, the island administration is trying to find a new mayor by publishing an announcement in the newspaper.

According to a report by Spiegel, the Christian Democrats, Social Democrats, and the Greens party have decided to jointly publish the announcement. It includes a number of requirements for candidates for the mayoral position.

Requirements for mayoral candidates:
- Willingness to live on the island;
- Possession of a higher education;
- Experience in administrative work;
- Must fall within the legally defined age range (23-67 years old).

In the announcement: “With us, you can shape the future in a responsible position,” it states.

The current mayor, Marcel Fangor, was also found through a similar newspaper announcement 7 years ago. This time, the local government hopes to find a suitable candidate in the same way. The reason is that the shortage of qualified personnel in the administrative field on the island is increasingly growing.

Interestingly, a recent announcement for the lighthouse keeper position went viral on the internet, making Wangerooge island famous throughout Germany.

Deadline for document submission and election date

The new mayor will be elected on August 17. Candidates for this position can submit their documents until June 14.

Time will tell what results this announcement will bring in finding the necessary specialist for the island administration.
