A new project has been implemented in the Polish capital, Warsaw, to promote culture and reading. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A modern library has been opened at the metro station. The cultural center named “Metroteka” started operating at the Konratowicza station on the M2 line in the Targówek district.
This project aims to encourage the city’s residents and metro passengers to develop an interest in reading books rather than using smartphones, and to create a comfortable environment for culture and relaxation. The library consists of two sections, with separate areas for adults and children.
Additionally, a special space is allocated for mass reading and cultural events. The Metroteka library, with a total area of 150 square meters, has approximately more than 16 thousand books.
All books are provided “expressly” using contactless chips. After reading, books can be returned to the library or placed in a special drop box that operates 24 hours a day.
Metroteka offers visitors not only the opportunity to read books but also to temporarily use laptops, access the internet, and work in a quiet environment away from noise. Moreover, there is an option to relax with free coffee and hot chocolate.
On the first day of the project’s launch, more than 400 books were distributed. Among them are school textbooks, travel guides, scientific and practical books.
This new library will make a significant contribution to culture and education in the city of Warsaw.
