Widespread protests against the social and economic policies of French President Emmanuel Macron are taking place. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Hundreds of people took to the streets in several major cities across the country, including Paris, Lyon, and Rennes. The protesters are expressing their discontent with the government's new policies under the slogan "Stop Everything".
They mainly emphasize their concerns about job cuts, weakening social security, and declining living standards. The situation escalated in Rennes, where barricades were built on roundabouts and set on fire.
Additionally, in some parts of the city, damage was caused to bus and tram lines. In Lyon, trash bins were overturned onto tram tracks and set ablaze.
According to police reports, at least 85 people have been detained across the country, most of whom were arrested in Paris. Security forces were sometimes forced to use tear gas to disperse the unrest.
The main demands of the protesters are focused on preserving jobs, strengthening social protection, and improving living conditions. The reforms implemented by the government are negatively affecting the lives of ordinary people, which is one of the main reasons for the protests.
The situation in the country remains tense, and the protests are expected to continue.
