The Israel Defense Forces announced on Friday afternoon that they had begun occupying positions along the updated lines. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This situation indicates that an agreement has been reached to cease fire between Hamas and Israel. On Thursday, the Israeli government approved a new peace plan developed through the mediation of U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to this document, once the Israeli army is positioned at the designated locations, Hamas will be given 72 hours to return the Israelis held hostage. The Israel Defense Forces statement emphasized that the southern command troops remain in their positions and continue to take measures in response to any direct threats.
So far, there has been no official information about the specific areas from which Israeli forces are withdrawing. However, according to sources from the AFP agency, military equipment is being removed from the Khan Yunis districts and the northwestern outskirts of Gaza City.
Following this news, a signal is expected for the population throughout Gaza to return to their areas. According to Israeli media, hundreds of Palestinians who had been waiting on Al-Rashid road have started moving north since last night.
At the same time, Israeli soldiers are asking the population to move only along permitted routes and warning them not to approach areas where troops are stationed. Currently, the Israeli army controls about more than half of the Gaza area, approximately 53 percent.
This area mainly consists of buffer zones outside the cities, including the Philadelphia corridor near the Egyptian border, the Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia districts, as well as the eastern parts of Gaza City. According to the agreement, Israeli troops will remain in certain areas, and it is advised not to approach these places until further notice, as it may be life-threatening.
Colonel Avichay Adrai, a representative of the Israeli army, also stressed that approaching the buffer zone is very dangerous. Meanwhile, smoke rings were seen over the Israel-Gaza border from Friday morning.
Artillery fire was reported around Khan Yunis, and gunshots were heard in the Netsarim corridor area. Nevertheless, most people regard this agreement as a temporary pause in the conflict and an opportunity for people to return to their homes.
The people of Gaza are now awaiting genuine peace and looking to the future with hope.
