The Gaza peace, which came into effect on October 10, has faced serious tests in recent days. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On Sunday, after an attack in the city of Rafah in which two Israeli soldiers were killed, the Israeli army carried out strikes in the Gaza area. This event was the bloodiest day in recent weeks, with at least 45 Palestinians reported killed.
Israel blames “Hamas” for these attacks. Following the attacks, Israel temporarily halted humanitarian aid deliveries, but under pressure from the United States, border crossings were reopened on Monday.
US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are in the region, continuing negotiations to strengthen the agreement and discuss the future of Gaza. They are discussing the deployment of international peace forces as the second phase of the peace process and the disarmament of “Hamas.”
Among Palestinians, confidence in the guarantees of peace is declining. It has been noted that children have also died in the attacks.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense has begun work to define new border areas called the “yellow line.” This line will clearly indicate the parts of Gaza under Israeli control.
At the same time, Israeli military forces have warned that measures will be taken against any militants entering this area. Although both sides currently support maintaining the peace, increasing political pressure and internal conflicts are putting the agreement at risk.
