This result allowed the Switzerland national team to maintain first place in the group and secure a direct qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Kosovo took second place and earned the right to participate in the playoff stage.
From the start of the game, the teams played cautiously. Although Switzerland controlled the ball more, they did not rush to create dangerous attacking situations.
The visitors circulated the ball through Xhaka and the defenders, showing a safe style of play. Kosovo tried to organize attacks from the wings through Muslia and Vojvoda, but failed to create serious chances in the first half.
The most memorable moment of the first half was Ebischer's shot, but goalkeeper Muric saved his team. Near the break, Kosovo targeted the goal with a shot from Khoja, but goalkeeper Kobel comfortably caught the ball.
