The White House has appealed to Congress to reject a bill aimed at restricting the export of chips by Nvidia and AMD to China and other countries. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Bloomberg, the bill named the "GAIN AI Act" is intended to ensure that chips produced in the United States are primarily supplied to domestic customers.
According to the information, this position could be an important victory for Nvidia, as the company is actively working to oppose the bill. Nvidia representatives emphasize that there is no chip shortage in the US market.
However, Congress supports limiting China's high ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence. If this bill is not passed, a new document is planned to be proposed for discussion.
According to the new bill, the US Department of Commerce will have the authority to reject applications for exporting chips more powerful than the H20 model to China. So far, no final decision has been made regarding these initiatives.
Therefore, discussions on this matter are expected to continue.
