The famous Italian brand Prada bought Versace for 1.5 billion dollars. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by CNN. This deal was finalized with the signing of the official agreement to purchase Versace from Capri Holdings in April 2025.
Prada acquired this brand for 1.3 billion euros (1.51 billion dollars). The deal was delayed due to antitrust issues during Capri Holdings' sale to Tapestry.
The management of Prada, in particular Miuccha Prada and Patricio Bertelli's son Lorenzo Bertelli, shared their thoughts on this process. In an interview with Reuters, Lorenzo Bertelli announced that after the integration process with Versace is completed, he will take the position of its CEO.
According to Bertelli, Prada had been striving for this deal for several years. The Versace brand was founded in Italy in 1978 by Gianni Versace and is known worldwide for its modern and attractive style.
Now Versace is becoming part of the Prada group, entering a new phase of global fashion. Besides Versace, the Prada group also includes other famous brands such as Miu Miu, which are among the rapidly growing companies.
Additionally, in March, Donatella Versace announced that she would leave her position as creative director of Versace. She was succeeded by Dario Vitale, the design director of the Miu Miu brand.
These changes are expected to open new opportunities for both Versace and Prada.
